Raw images
A prompt sent to the model as written, transparent backgrounds, and when to cut one out.
The Raw bench sends your prompt to an image model exactly as you typed it. There's no sprite framing, no viewpoint or style phrasing added, and nothing removed afterwards unless you ask for it. Use it for whatever the Sprite bench would fight: title cards, item icons, tilesets, portraits with scenery, backgrounds, concept art.
Models
Pick one under Model:
- GPT Image 2.5 (the default) is the only one that draws a transparent background itself. It draws squares at 1024×1024, and its price depends on the aspect ratio.
- Nano Banana 2.1 draws at about 1K and costs the same at every ratio.
- Seedream 5.0 Pro draws the largest images of the three: squares come out at 1536×1536.
Raw prices move with each reference image, with the Aspect ratio on GPT Image, and with background removal on Nano Banana and Seedream. The number beside Generate is always the exact quote for what you've set.
Reference images
Add up to four with Reference image or by dropping files on the prompt. With references, the model edits or draws from them instead of starting from nothing. Each one adds a little to the price.
Transparent backgrounds
Background offers what the chosen model can do:
- GPT Image 2.5: Auto, Opaque or Transparent. Transparent comes back as a PNG whose alpha the model drew itself, at no extra cost.
- Nano Banana 2.1 and Seedream 5.0 Pro: Keep or Remove. These models paint every pixel, so Remove runs the same cut-out a sprite gets after the image is drawn. It costs about 2 credits more.
Tips
Ask for a purple background when the background will be removed. For Nano Banana or Seedream with Remove on, end the prompt with a flat purple backdrop:
a rusty iron sword with a leather grip, game item icon, centered, on a solid flat purple backgroundThe cut-out separates the subject most cleanly from one flat colour that appears nowhere in the subject. Purple rarely turns up in skin, wood, metal or foliage, so it rarely gets mistaken for part of the subject. Avoid scenery, gradients and shadows behind the subject. If the subject is itself purple, pick another flat colour that it doesn't contain, such as green.
Don't write "transparent background" for those two models. They can't draw transparency, so they tend to paint a grey-and-white checkerboard instead, and the cut-out keeps it. Ask for a colour and switch Background to Remove.
With GPT Image, say it in both places. Set Background to Transparent and also write "transparent background" in the prompt. The two agree, and the model is less likely to add a backdrop of its own.
